Literature Text
we look up at the stars in the sky
wishing we were among them but;
still we find forever is too long
for our frail flesh bodies and we
can't find the cure to ourselves.
she tells me we are birds and
the heavens are ours, but I look
down at the dirt (we are
creatures of the dust - this is all we have) and
know it's all a lie for children
still we try and dream
together and still I remain
a wingless bird
that can never take flight.

hanging over the coastal town
and retreating to its kennel

of a rainbow
its baby rattle of a roar

lush from
the cut
in his makeshift aegis
a handful
of dumb phrases
plastered on
his steering wheel,
dangerous
he closed his eyes
to escape
and found aches
his hammered hull
had never
tasted
he was wasted
on sheer page
and stress
